About Us

Dr. Mary Ellen Sayre

Mary Ellen Sayre graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She lived and practiced small animal medicine from 1997 to 2001 in the Harrisburg area. In 2001, she moved to State College, PA and practiced at The Animal Medical Hospital until 2011. In 2010, she acquired her Acupuncture Certification and started her own practice, Sayre Veterinary Acupuncture, in 2011. She has been adding trainings and certifications over the last decade. In 2019, Sayre Veterinary Acupuncture changed its name to ZenPet, LLC, and relocated to Centre Hall, PA.

Credentials and Certifications
  • 2010 – Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS)
  • 2014 – Advanced Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT) and IVAS
  • 2016 – Certified Animal Chiropractor through Options for Animals and the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association
  • 2019 – Completed Aquatic Therapy in Canine Rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute
  • 2020 – Completion of Certification in Clinical Integrative Canine Rehabilitation through CIVT
  • 2022 – Completed Dr. Laurie McCaughley’s Optimum Geriatric Exercise Course for Professionals
  • 2022 – Completed Dr. Laurie McCaughley’s Optimum Laser Therapy Course for Professionals

 

Laura Gemmati

Laura GemmatiLaura moved to Pennsylvania from Georgia in 2007 and has been a technician for 20 years. She currently does a little of everything, so you may talk to her on the phone or see her helping with patients. In her spare time, she is usually busy taking her kids to their sporting events.

Stacey Brown

Stacey BrownStacey has been a dog groomer for 14 years and has had her own grooming business for the last 12 years. She recently completed her Canine Massage Therapy certification through Holistic Animal Studies and is seeing animals for massage at ZenPet. Stacey also enjoys training and exercising her own dogs, as well as teaching physical therapy techniques and conditioning exercises to owners here at the clinic.
